PostSecret

What is your secret? Personal question right off the bat, I know. Everybody has them and some are heavier than others. And sometimes, all you need is a bit of anonymity and courage and the pressure of secrecy will lift.

Character created by Kasie West.

Gia Montgomery is from my favorite book called The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West. This was a book I was hesitant about buying because I did not think I would enjoy it, but my need to read all of Kasie West books won out and so my resolve crumbled and I bought the book that would turn out to be my favorite. I fell in love with the characters and the different family dynamic Kasie displayed. It was harder to create a PostSecret for Gia because I haven’t read the book in a while and she isn’t a character I know like the back of my hand. I hope I made one that did her justice.

Character created by me.

My second person I did was my own character, Odette from the Archetype story. She was a whole lot easier to create and I am proud of how it came out. Odette was the easiest to create out of all three because I know her and her cracks—I know who she is, even if she doesn’t know herself.

Myself.

Doing my own PostSecret was the hardest. I’m in a period of time right now where I am not really sure what makes Alice, Alice. There have been so many contradicting thoughts that have just been hard to navigate and try to understand in my mind. I hope I was able to capture myself in a way that is true to who I am and thinking about it now, I think I did. The explanation I gave, is something that is a constant feeling I have had in my life and so, here it is.
